[AVAILABILITY] Will this edition of Unearth be available for retail after the Kickstarter?

This version of Unearth was created exclusively for this Kickstarter and Brotherwise direct sales. It won’t be available through traditional distribution, but retailers can pre-order it directly from us to sell in their stores. We also expect to have a limited amount of units available via our website and/or at conventions.

Yes! Pledge $1 now and you’ll be able to purchase those as an Add On for $20 in the Backerkit pledge manager after the campaign closes.

[COMPONENTS] I have the original Unearth and just want to get the expansion content. Is that possible?

This Kickstarter campaign is focused on a full relaunch of the original game that was released ten years ago. We’ve upgraded the components, improved the graphic design (including card backs) and added new components that make the various expansions play better together, providing the best gaming experience possible.

However, in parallel with fulfillment in 2027, we’ll be working with DriveThruCards to create a print-on-demand upgrade pack. It will have the same card back art as the 2017 version and is intended for folks with the original game who do not want the 10th Anniversary Edition. The expected price will be between $10 and $15, but that won’t be confirmed until closer to its release.

[COMPONENTS] The previous version of The Lost Tribe expansion had a Delver mini included. Does this version?

It does not. To keep costs as low as possible, we’ve removed the Delver miniature from the game.

[EXPANSIONS] What's the difference between the Lost Tribe and Buried Lords?

Both are included in the 10th Anniversary Edition, but they add different mechanics. The Lost Tribe adds rules for a 5th player, solo mode, colorless stones, and React delver cards. Buried Lords adds a new Buried Lord game mode (with starting powers), as well as Song delver cards (which provide ongoing effects).

[PLEDGE MANAGER] What is a Pledge Manager?

All crowdfunding projects require a central hub to store everyone’s pledge information, usually called the “pledge manager” or “PM.” At Brotherwise, we’ve chosen BackerKit as our pledge manager for Unearth: 10th Anniversary Edition. In BackerKit, you’ll confirm your current address (which you can always change later!), pay shipping, make sure your pledge looks right, add on more fun add-ons, and pay for any outstanding charges from Kickstarter. An important note for those new to crowdfunding: You paid for your pledge in Kickstarter, but that charge did not include shipping. Pledge Manager surveys are sent about 1-2 months after the campaign ends.

[PLEDGE MANAGER] Will $1 pledges have access to the Pledge Manager?

Yes, $1 pledges will have access to the BackerKit pledge manager and will be able to change their pledge to a higher tier if they wish.

[SHIPPING] Is VAT included in the shipping quote?

VAT is included in all regions marked “Friendly” in our shipping table. To clarify, the following regions already have VAT included in their shipping quotes: China, Europe, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada. For all other zones, backers are responsible for paying tariffs, duties, and/or local surcharges.

[TARIFFS] How does Brotherwise plan to handle the US tariffs?

Brotherwise has built our financial plan for this Kickstarter with the expectation that we will absorb all tariff costs for any affected US orders, assuming tariffs remain at or in the vicinity of their current rate (15% for games imported from China). We reserve the right to revisit the need for delays or moderate tariff upcharges should the situation change drastically between now and fulfillment. However, we have absorbed tariff increases for previous campaigns, while keeping projects on schedule, and our first priority is providing a positive experience for the people who play our games.

[UPDATES] Are the rules for the base game updated at all?

Along with the Seasons cards, some cards have been adjusted and some rules have been tweaked, but for the most part it’s still the same game we all love, just a smoother experience than ever before!

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
